I love the size and cross-body design. The matching wallet is an ideal size & has great functionality. My suggestions for improvement would be: (1) more desirable fabric patterns (2) solid color interior, as it would be easier to distinguish credit cards, etc. (3) a different style strap. I LOVE this bag. The color is much more neutral than it looks online and the pattern is both cute and interesting. The interior pocket set up is great. I have some confusion with the placement of the holders for the strap it seems set up to wear over your left shoulder, and I'm a right shoulder wearer, but that's not enough of an issue to downgrade. It's easy clean, a perfect size for daily use - not too big, not too small. Overall a great item, and I recommend highly, especially for people who live in questionable weather locations.  Perfect little purse to take on vacation. I used this recently on my beach vacation. I did not have to worry about my camera or other essentials getting wet from surprise rain showers or seaspray during boat rides thanks to the waterproof oilcloth. This is the perfect bag for me since I tend to NOT change purses very often. Its basically non-destructable with durable straps and well made hardware. I love the color... its unique and I love that I can wear it as a shoulder bag OR over the shoulder. I bought this bag (the Envelope) two years ago and have used it almost every day since. It looks like I bought it yesterday. The oilcloth has stayed clean and hardware perfect. I used to always peruse the purse and bag sections of stores. Now when I look at other bags I can't find anything I'd rather carry than MY bag. Really. It's the perfect purse. 12/03/2009

Our summer vacation this year was to Zurich, Switzerland.  My hope had been to pack as lightly as possible, but we had a wide variety of activities planned including alpine hikes, lake cruises, shopping, business dinners, and general sight-seeing.  Knowing how fashionable European women are, I worried that taking just one bag might not be practical, BUT I took my butterscotch envelope bag, and it all worked!  It coordinated well with my dressier outfits.  I was able to lengthen the straps and sling it across my body when my hands were full rushing through the airports.  I rolled it up and shoved it in my backpack when we were out hiking.  Being completely waterproof, I didn't worry about my passport or wallet getting wet when it rained, and I was able to wipe the exterior clean whenever it got dirty.  I was very pleased with my choice.  9/3/2009

really like this bag. Its a little smaller than I expected, but Im still very happy with my purchase. It seems really well constructed and should look good for a long time. I love that the strap is adjustable so I can wear it on my shoulder of slung across my body. The oilcloth used is really soft and pliable which was an unexpected surprise...it will be real easy to clean. Im very happy and will probably order some of the bigger bags too!  6/10/2009

This is a great bag. I bought it together with the wide tote in the same pattern because I wanted something spring-like to use now and in the summer. I have been using the tote to carry my things to school, and it is great. I use this as my handbag and it fits into the tote with my other things, meaning that I do not have to carry two separate items. Then when I need to shop after school, I can just grab this bag and go. It is small enough that I do not overfill it, but it carries just what I need. I like the outer pocket for my cell phone or iPod, and I love the oilcloth fabric and pattern. My only complaint would be the high price, but that would not stop me from buying it again, and I may purchase the same in a darker color in the fall. 04/19/2009

I bought this bag to take on vacation and it was exactly what I had hoped for. I was worried that it might be too small but it turned out to be much roomier than I had expected. My wallet, phone and camera fit perfectly inside. The strap was just the right length to wear the purse across my body so I could keep my hands free and not have to worry about my purse falling off my shoulder. I love the fun pattern and oil cloth material. The only drawback was the price. It was a little more than I originally wanted to spend. I love the oilcloth material, color and the pattern. The strap is well-designed and sturdy, and I like the style of this bag. I just wish it were a few inches bigger, both length and width, and it would be the perfect size for a wallet, make-up bag, eyeglass case, and a few extras. But it's making me pare down my purse! The other positive comments regarding this bag were enough to for me to take a chance on it myself. I get a lot of comments from friends and strangers alike on the unique design and fabric. I never worry about it getting dirty because of the oilcloth exterior - it wipes clean, doesn't scratch and I have no problems yet with the strap fraying or any stitching coming undone. This is a good sign. If there were any problems with the bag, it'd be these: I wish it was a bit larger, I really wish there were more compartments to the bag to allow me to get at what I need when I need it faster, and I have some problems with the zipper - I need to pinch the teeth together with one hand and pull on the zipper with the other to get it closed if it has been opened all the way. All in all, however, it is a good, attractive bag and I'm not getting rid of it any time soon. (12/16/2008)

It's not too small and not too big. It's just large enough to hold my wallet, checkbook, and a few other things...maybe a small notebook. I don't want to be weighed down with a huge bag and this bag forces me to just bring the essentials. Awesome!! The strap is adjustable so I can wear it on one shoulder or across my chest. There's an inside zippered pocket and an inside open pocket along with a small oustide zippered pocket. The only thing it's missing is a cord to hold my keys which always work their way to the bottom of my bag. (11/16/2008)

This is a great bag- it is both durable and fashionable! It is a bit small, but this pushes me to keep my handbag organized... no roaming receipts and garbage allowed. The bright interior makes it easy to find items and I like the two internal pockets (one zippered, one not). The outside zippered pocket fits my blackberry perfectly- no more hunting for my cell phone. The adjustable strap is great and easy to change. The only downfall I have found with this bag is the main zipper is a wee bit touchy though I assume not all the bags are like this. (10/28/2008)

Great, durable bag with fun/unusual print. I used this as my spring/summer bag and it was perfect for running around with my kids (wide long strap perfect for across the body, lightweight, durable due to oilcloth). It also was perfect for organization with one outer zip pocket for keys & lipstick, inner zip pocket, cell phone pocket, and spacious main compartment. I will definitely use it again next spring. "My Envelope" is pretty convenient. The fact that the bags exterior is easy to wipe clean is awesome. I have two young boys and sometimes things can get messy....so the fact that this bag is not cloth is nice. I also love the designs on the bag. I love this bag!!! I am a working mother so I have to have a seperate purse from my diaper bag and this purse is perfect. It holds all my essentials in a very organized way (lots of pocket) and fits perfectly across my petite body so I have arms free to carry a diaper bag, bottle, coffee or child. I love this bag and plan to buy it in more colors. It is actually a little roomier than I had expected and is super cute. My only complaint is that, although I think it is designed as a cross-body bag, the strap (which is nice a long) is not sewn to the bag a way that allows the bag to lay nice and flat against the body. The strap seems to be designed for wearing the bag over the shoulder, and seems to get twisted in the back frequently. (06/13/2008)

I purchased this bag because I wanted a lightweight bag that would hold everything I generally need for a day out doing errands, appointments, shopping etc. with enough extra room for a journal or a book. This is the perfect size and very sleek against my body. I like the fact that I can wear it as a crossover or as a shoulder bag. I have had surgery on my back and was stressing my back by using purses made from leather which tend to be heavy. This bag is so lightweight that it doesn't add much weight to what I am carrying. I really like the number of compartments and the zip one on the front is perfect for a credit card, lipgloss and keys. I don't drive but I need to have hands free for getting in and out of cabs and also paying the driver etc. I hated having to dig around in my other bags looking for my credit card or money and with this compartment I can access everything I need so easily and without having to unzip the main compartment. I also like that it is completely washable. My daughter (in her twenties) loved the bag as soon as she saw it and said it looks quite unique and stylish. I couldn't be happier with it. (05/23/2008)

I bought the red color and it is very different looking. The only odd thing about it is that if you want the outside zipper compartment facing out, you need to wear it on your left hip. Otherwise, it would be perfect. I agree with the other reviewers who would like this style a little bit larger. On the other hand, the bigger the bag, the more stuff I will carry around with me. I like this bag because it is a sufficient size for daily use. I have been looking for an affordable slim bag for the spring. This was the answer. A good friend turned me onto MY Oilcloth bags.
