MY oilcloth on gift giving
Tis the season, that’s for sure. We love the “sneaky buying” that has been going on at the office. We all work full time so we have very limited time to shop. You know what we mean, someone is diligently working at their computer, but it just so happens that one of the windows is open to the Amazon site. Here’s one: “ I was at the bank doing stuff for work and the children’s book shop is right next door………” Those tell tale shopping bags won’t let you hide where you’ve been.
The most common question among us this holiday season is "What do I get for my aunt, nephew, piano teacher etc?" We are constantly looking to each other to say just the right thing and put us out of our gift-giving misery. The way it is done here at MY oilcloth is to begin with a series of thought provoking questions:
First and foremost, “Would the person like a MY oilcloth bag?”
Often that doesn’t work for us because we have a lot of MY enthusiasts out there who already own about a dozen.
So, we move on:
What does the person do for work?
Do they go to school?
Do they collect anything?
Do they have a favorite charity?
Do they have a pet?
Do they like to read?
Often, just the banter of ideas helps us to hone in on the perfect gift idea.
Of course, if someone says a MY oilcloth bag is just right, that then opens up a whole new dialog of which pattern, which style, newest pattern or vintage? That’s a whole different blog!
